Review: Premio Sirmione per la fotografia

Davide Greco is the first resident photographer in Sirmione, protagonist of Sirmione Photo Residency of this year with his project Parcours, realized in 2021 in Clermont-de-l’Oise, France. In the first half of October he will be in Sirmione to realize his new photography project in collaboration with Magnum Photos and in this occasion he will present to the public his former project.

Parcours is a project developed during a residency in Clermont-de-l’Oise, organized by photography association Diaphane. The visit to Clermont gave him the chance to explore an unknown place relying on a less conventional navigation system: people. Speaking with local people the photographer created his travel itinerary, based on the personal experiences of its inhabitants. In this way portrayed subjects became the creators of a collective map. The portraits of people and the series of details photographed during the long walks on his own create an image of Clermont in which the disorientation is compensated by the beauty of an encounter.
