Interregional exercise of the firefighters in Sirmione

Four scenarios implemented in Sirmione

On May 5th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Municipality of Sirmione will be the protagonist of an impressive and complex joint exercise organized by the National Fire Brigade.

All the activities implemented by the Fire Brigade of Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia, together with the Italian Red Cross and the Police and other components of the local Civil Protection, coordinated by the Prefecture of Brescia, will be aimed at simulating rescue scenarios in water and on a rocky wall at the Grotte di Catullo.

The different scenarios implemented – from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – will not impact on road traffic and on the perimeter navigation of the Historic Center except for the few minutes identified for each of the activities implemented in the limited area.

All events will be broadcast in live streaming by the Emergency Communication Service of the Fire Brigade.

“We welcome this exercise with great willingness, animated by the desire to make Sirmione safer for citizens and visitors. The morphology of our territory, unique in its kind, will allow the Fire Brigade to be able to recreate danger scenarios, implementing specific procedures that would be implemented in the event of an emergency, effectively preparing the rescuers employed in advance.” – comments the Mayor Luisa Lavelli.

The Governmental Lakes Management has gladly joined the Fire Brigade initiative by providing a motor ship for the exercise, also in function of the internal training project “Home Academy” that the General Management has promoted for the training of the crew in the emergency cases.
