The product on which the cuisine of  Lake Garda is based is lake fish which constitutes its real heritage.
In Lake Garda about forty different fish species can be fished, mostly indigenous. The most valuable and typical species that has found a suitable habitat only in Garda is the carpione. Other species are for example the bleak, the lake trout, the whitefish, the pike combined with excellent local oil.
And then the Lugana wine, an unmistakable, rigorous and classy white wine that recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
