Sirmione is preparing for the return of tourists by shining the magnificent blooms that populate the numerous flower beds of the peninsula, this year enriched by a prestigious novelty: TULIPANOMANIA, a project conceived and implemented in collaboration with Parco Giardino Sigurtà, a green jewel of 600,000 square meters that rises in Valeggio sul Mincio in the province of Verona.

“Tulipanomania is integrated into a path of care and attention of our territory thanks to constant maintenance and annual planting of over 10,000 essences including sunpatiens and begonias in spring and as many violets and cyclamens in the autumn season” – comments the commissioner for public works Roberto Campagnola. “The collaboration with the Parco Giardino Sigurtà, synonymous with excellence recognized all over the world, makes us proud to be able to offer tourists and visitors an energy of colors released by the planting of over 30,000 tulip bulbs.”

“We are delighted with this collaboration with the pearl of Lake Garda, Sirmione: a link has thus been created between two important tourist realities, overcoming regional borders” – declares Giuseppe Inga Sigurtà, owner of the Park – “Participating in this project is an honor and I believe that thanks to this partnership, residents and tourists can admire a taste of the Tulipanomania that the Sigurtà Garden Park hosts in this period by the lake.”

Even the youngest were involved in the initiative: some classes of the Benedetta Bianchi Porro primary school, with the supervision and support of the teachers and the counselor with responsibility for public education Miria Bocchio, actively participated in the project. Some fifth grade students planted tulip bulbs in flowerbeds while the first grade secondary school students of the Istituto Comprensivo II Trebeschi, led by the art education professor, worked on creating tulip-inspired designs. 58 drawings were made and some of these were used to create the visual of the project, which was subsequently printed and posted in correspondence with the flower beds themselves.

The Sirmione blooms that populate the flower beds in Viale Marconi are a stage of the more complete TULIPANOMANIA project that can be visited at the Parco Giardino Sigurtà: the richest tulip bloom in Italy and second in Europe thanks to more than a million tulips. With daffodils, muscari and hyacinths, the flowering at Parco Sigurtà has been awarded by the World Tulip Society and is an unmissable event for lovers of flowers and photography.
